Today's Haul

Since it's been so cold, I've put off my trip to Ulta in Pasadena. I'd intended to return and pick up more of their awesome holographic polishes. They are $9 each but so pretty. But today I was browsing the Net and found a site that has them for only $2.99. I ordered China Glaze, Misa (a brand I never heard of before), and some Essie polishes. 14 bottles came up to only $42, sans tax and free shipping.

Then I ordered 12 more of those matte Bourjois lipsticks for $36 including shipping. They were only $3.50 each, originally $14. Yay!

Oh, Happy Day

Today I got my Emo Philips CD in the mail, and the 17 matte red lipsticks I ordered (mostly they're Bourjois). They're not the same shade of red, but there are a couple of dupes. La la la...

My New Shoes

Got these at Ross for $24.99. I checked Zappos, and they are $90 there! I didn't realize this until I checked Zappos, but the insoles come out and convert into flip flops! How crazy/cool is that??? The best part is they are super-comfy.

I also got a cute heavy duty canvas bag for $19.99 (orig. $129). Gotta love Ross.

Beware The Body Shop!

I received an AMEX gift card for Christmas. I used $38 of it at Amazon and that was a great experience. I got 2 great frying pans, Love at First Bite on DVD, and Soul Calibur 3--all for $38, with free shipping, and my order came in 3 days. I was quite impressed.

I tried to use the rest of it at The Body Shop, and that was a disaster. They were having a great sale, and it took me no time to spend sixty bucks, but when I tried to submit my order, my gift card was rejected. I could hardly believe it since it was American Express but whatever. So I went to another beauty site and found another great sale (matte lipsticks for $3 each!) but that one wouldn't take either. Hmmm... very peculiar. So I went to AMEX's site and checked the balance. The Body Shop billed my gift card! After automatically rejecting my order! Unbelievable. It took them 3 days to return my email, and basically their answer was "Too bad." Apparently when you submit any order, they hold the funds, no matter what. Even if they reject your card!

Well! That is the last of my shopping sprees at The Body Shop, and I fully intend to spread negative word of mouth with all my friends. I was just at the 2nd St. store, and I spent almost a hundred bucks! I am really regretting that now. I still cannot believe a business would behave this way. It's unconscionable.

Dare I Hope...?

I must be dreaming, because matte lipsticks are becoming extinct. Apparently this new collection is not out yet; at least I haven't seen it at CVS or Walgreens yet. I haven't been to Rite Aid in a while. I sent an email via Milani's site. Be still my heart... Apparently they also have a mineral makeup line coming out, too. Cool, but not exciting. Everybody's got a mineral makeup line now.
